am i the only one who prefers short fanfiction
when i read it at all, that is
if i see something over 5k i’m instantly just like LOL NOPE
(and this is not a hating reading thing I mean I read novels for fun and all, fuck I read motherfucking Dumas for fun)
my main problem with fanfiction is that I usually read it and go “no this is wrong this is all wrong” and get frustrated
(the other common problem being that I seem to hang around fandoms that have an epic love affair with AU, which I don’t read at all)
so obviously trying to plough through a friggin 30-chapter monstrosity is ill-advised at best
but even if it’s by someone I know is really, really good I still won’t read long fic as a general rule
